In order to satisfy the demand for refrigerators and microwave ovens, Mary Baldwin College has approved the MicroFridge rental program. The MicroFridge unit consists of a microwave oven and a refrigerator with a separate freezer, all in one integrated unit. The MicroFridge works off one electrical cord and meets all the University’s electrical and safety requirements.
How do I order my MicroFridge?
The MicroFridge is available for the low rental price of $198.45 per year. Orders can be placed on-line or by mail. For your convenience we accept Visa and Master Card as well as checks and money orders. Full payment is required with all orders. Orders received by August 10, 2010 will be installed prior to the first day of classes.
Orders received after August 10, 2010 will be subject to an additional $10 late fee and will be delivered to the dorm within the first two weeks of the academic year.
Dorm and roommate Assignments:
If you would like to order and do not know your dorm assignment or roommate, simply order now and you will be guaranteed a unit. If after receiving your housing assignment, you find that you do not need the unit, you can simply cancel the order. All orders cancelled prior to delivery will receive a full refund. If we receive an order from both you and your roommate, we will automatically cancel one of the orders and issue a full refund.
Room changes:
Students are responsible for notifying The Melvin Corporation if they are leaving school or changing rooms by emailing us at melvincorp@embarqmail.com or calling 540-463-3693.
Cancellation Policy:
Orders cancelled prior to delivery will receive a full refund. Orders cancelled during the first 30 days of the academic year are subject to a $40 processing fee. Orders cancelled after the first 30 days are non-refundable.
Damage Insurance:
Students are responsible for the upkeep of the MicroFridge they have rented. For the low cost of $19.99 per year, you can purchase insurance in the event your unit gets damaged. The cost of a replacement unit is in excess of $500.00 so we highly recommend taking advantage of this low cost insurance to protect you.
